About Sharon

A counselor who has sat where you sit.

I have sat where you currently sit. It is my pleasure to serve you, and I look forward to hearing from you.

My objective is to help you achieve inner peace, no matter the storm raging on the outside.

Sharon has walked alongside people for more than 25 years, first in pastoral counseling and now as a licensed clinical mental health counselor. She works with preteens and teens through adults and older adults, and she sees individuals, couples, and families.

She is passionate about marriage, relationships, and spirituality, and she helps people answer what makes life worth living. She also walks with people through depression, mood disorders, anxiety, stress, grief, and other hard seasons.

Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace, for it is trusting in you.

Approach

How sessions work, and how care is shaped.

Techniques

Sessions are a calm, working conversation. Sharon draws on the tools that fit the moment: genograms to see family patterns, the empty chair method to give hard feelings a voice, the miracle question to picture what healing looks like, breathing techniques and relaxation to steady the body, and positive self-talk to soften a harsh inner voice. Throughout, she leads with empathy and active listening. With children, she uses play therapy so they can express what words cannot.

Treatment plans

Sharon uses an eclectic approach, which means she does not force you into one method. She builds a plan around you and adjusts it as you make progress or hit a setback.

The goal is mental peace. Much of the work is naming what is keeping you from living in it, then taking gentle, steady steps to move it aside.

In their words

Quiet progress, one honest conversation at a time.

This was my first time attending therapy, and you made me feel comfortable and not crazy.

A client, first time in counseling

My daughter had talked to other therapists who could not relate to her situation, but she feels comfortable opening up to you, and we are seeing progress in how she handles anxiety at school.
